    thirty one

    Wednesday, March 12, 2008
The husband just turned 31 last March 3. I had a job interview that morning at downtown area. After the appointment, we had lunch at a nearby thai restaurant called Salad King. This is our very first family celebration since we moved to Toronto.

Side note: I didn't have a gift for my husband dear on his birthday :( Hay!!! ang hirap mag-isip ng regalo para sa lalaki!

Side note 2: We had dinner with my friend Carol that night... and man, the one and only waitress of the restaurant really has a horrible attitude! Sarap sabunutan! And the meal wasn't that good either. :(

P.S. Girls, thanks for leaving messages here. I do read all of them but please excuse me for not replying. I'm trying to catch up on a lot of things these days... review for interviews, post processing of photos, digiscrapping, blogging... I do hope to be more "visible" in the coming days.

    Bye Bye Team

    Friday, December 21, 2007
It's my last day at work today. Well, I'm not yet officially off until the end of the year, but I'll be on terminal leave after today. Believe it or not, I felt unaccomplished after leaving the office at 10pm. I still have one pending task so leaving it hanging in the air doesn't feel quite right. :( Well, I have no choice but to turn it over to my ever-dependable teammates. Since I was so occupied, I wasn't even able to send a goodbye email to my team. I'll just make up when I go back to the office next week for my clearance.

I've been busy for the past few days juggling between work and Christmas activities. Needless to say, I feel like a zombie right now. Tired as it is, I still feel the urge to blog... to share with you what's running on top of my head at this moment in time.

Part of me feels glad for finally being able to have a good sleep after today (I hope). The other part of me feels really down especially when I left the office tonight. It saddens me that I have to part with my office friends just when our bond is getting stronger as we face stressful work each day. To my Jolly Java team Jay, Patoots and Aries - I wish I had known you earlier. huhuhu :( I will surely miss the long breakfast breaks in the mornings, the merienda-lunch in the late afternoons, endless chitchat about weddings, photography, movies, gadgets, gossips, and just anything under the sun. The encouragement to learn and study harder in Java, the teamwork that lead us to finish those mission impossible projects, our dreams of being someone famous in the future. And my RPG friends - you'll be spared with my endless questions from today on. hehe... thanks for warmly embracing me into the team when I first joined the company. To my bosses - you're the best ever... thanks for "taking care" of me during my stay with the company. I will surely miss the parties and the outings. Waaah.... To my photo club buddies - I wish I can stay longer to join you in photo shoots, workshops and assignments. huhuhuhuhu....

I'm feeling so emotional right now. This afternoon, my teammates bought soup kitchen for merienda instead of the usual pizzas, cakes or Amber pancit for despedidas. They know I don't enjoy sweets that much. They know I'd rather have a bowl of pancit than a slice of cake. They know I only eat chocolates when somebody joins me. They're just the sweetest!

One thing worth noting, I have successfully spread the digiscrap craze all over *LOL* See what Aries made for me during his "pretending-to-be-busy" time. And yes, he - the only guy that scraps! *LOL*

    Wanda's Desk
Yes, my desk is that messy! Coffee cups from 3 or 4 days ago! Yikes!

    Some making-fun-of-ourselves moments

Patoots is also starting to work on her layouts as well. I had fun making LOs with her and teaching her different photoshop techniques. The girl is getting addicted day by day. *LOL* Girl, I'm waiting for you to create your blogspot or wordpress blog some day. By the way, thanks for being my avid stalker. As in stalk day and night! *LOL*

I don't want to end this post with a sad note. I'm sure our paths will still cross in the future. More power to the Funded Dev team. I'll leave you with some photos from recent activities and feeling-model sessions.

    Finally....

    Thursday, September 13, 2007
First off, I would like to start this post with a good news. A BIG one, I should say. After 5 1/2 years of waiting, it finally came. I can't bear to imagine the things we went through just to get these precious holograms on our passports! Just when we were starting to lose hope, *kaboom*! Well, at least, better late than never. We have a few months left to prepare ourselves before the BIG move.

Excited? Yes. But at this moment in time, I feel scared more than anything else. Of what, you might think? I dunno. One thing's for sure. I'm not afraid of what's going to happen when we get there, it's more of what's gonna be left behind. If these came a year or two earlier, I would have been happier. Well, I have less worries back then. Anyways, I understand this is just a temporary feeling. You know, just the way I felt when I knew I was pregnant. Afraid at first, but will slowly embrace reality.

Will be seeing more of this flag soon huh?

There are lots of things I want to blog about. The forgotten supplier ratings (which I originally planned to scrap out), more photos from the past that I wasn't able to share, a couple of overdue tags, and some random thoughts. Let's see if I can catch up in the next few days (it's the same line as always).

In the meantime, I'll share a blog I've been visiting a lot these days. The author is Scott Young. I can't believe this guy's only 19! He even has this Postitive Media Blog list which I have to visit one by one if I have time. I made a new subfolder in my bloglines list with the label "wellness" - meaning all feel-good and inspirational stuff goes inside. A couple of entries from Scott's blog that I can personally relate to:
There are a lot more.... I hope to see nodding heads while you dig on his posts. :) Happy reading!

P.S. Thanks to all who left their greetings.... to chikai: yes, the camera of K800i rocks big time! :)

    Early Birthday Presents

    Saturday, September 08, 2007
I started receiving gifts weeks before my birthday. Boy, I'm speechless. Totally gadget-packed! :)

This one's from my sister-in-law. Oh so happy to finally get a book on photography. Imagine after days and hours of reading at Powerbooks, wala man lang akong nabibili ni isa. :) Thanks Achi! :)

This one's from my ever-dearest hubby. Muah Muah Muah!!! Finally a new phone after 3 (or 4?) years!! This is my first ever non-Nokia phone after what? 9 years? I chose this over other hi-end Nokia models coz I so love the built-in camera of the K800i! It's a good substitute to our 5 year-old point and shoot camera. Takes a while to get used to the keys though. And I love it's capability to support animated themes! Cool! Here's where I download stuff for my mobile phone. Oh by the way, got the Allure Brown edition which is totally ME! My stuff nowadays are all in brown - Shoes, bags, shirts, whatever! *LOL*

And here's what I got for myself - a 17-40mm wide angle L lens!!!! *LOL* Ok, I know we just added a couple of stuff in our bag a month ago. Here's the story. 2 days after we bought the 28-135mm lens, Canon announced a mega sale and they're selling it for thousands of bucks cheaper than the price we got (considering super mura na kuha namin). IMAGINE!?!? So, to even out our loss, I decided to purchase my next target, which is an L lens (which is also on big big sale)! A lot of pro photographers were raving about it's performance - image quality and sharpness are superb. I got to test it when I was purchasing my other lens. Just as my photography guru was telling me, it's a lens for keeps. And it has a good resale value if I decide to upgrade later on (naku, wag na mag-upgrade!) So, ayun - pikit mata nalang. Iiyak nalang ako next month when we get our credit card bill *LOL* Btw, I was hoping hubby will stop me from splurging on another gadget (as he always do). Surprise surprise, he didn't object! Alam niyo naman ako, mahina sa suhol *LOL*

    Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM Lens

Happy Birthday to me! (isang tulog nalang!) :) How young am I? I'm turning 24 this year! hahahahaha....
