This one is unforgettable... It's just exactly how you've seen them in the movies. It was suppose to be another ordinary choir night. We usually have dinner after our 6pm mass and head back to the church for choir practice after stuffing our stomachs. So normally, we would just go to restaurants nearby. Last Saturday wasn't any different. After mass, everybody decided to have dinner at XXX coffee shop. At around 8:30pm, we were already stuffed and the waiter handed us our bill. Everybody was still joking and laughing that time. I still remember we were teasing our friend to take out her senior citizen's card to avail of the 20% discount. All of a sudden, we heard someone yelling, then the gun shot was next. I turned my head around but didn't see what was happening coz the pillar behind me blocked the view where the gun shot came from. Then there were loud screams and all of us started to panic. We all bent our heads and hurriedly "crawled" out of the crime scene. I couldn't bare to look around but I did saw the shooter's feet chasing for someone inside the restaurant. Glasses falling off the tables, loud screams, I couldn't even see if Dex was behind me. But I'm sure he was pushing and dragging me coz I fell off in the middle of the chaos. I was so scared... I blurted out "holdup yata! holdup yata!" Then there's another gun shot! Oh noh! I can't even bare to imagine if someone was killed. Everybody just ran for their lives. Everything happened in a split second... Thank God Dex and I were able to get out of the restaurant quickly. Sa sobrang panic namin, naghahatakan pa kami kung san kami tatakbo... call of instinct na talaga kung saan ka pupunta coz I don't think my mind was working that time. We ran across the street and met our friends there. Everybody in shock! We turned back and looked towards the restaurant to see what's happening. A few seconds later, the shooter walked out of the restaurant... stopped for a moment as if looking for someone... then ran away. The guard and one of the waiters (who usually serve us food when we dine) quickly ran and chased after the shooter. OMG! What just happened? When we were back to our senses, we started to count if all our friends came out of the restaurant safely. We were particularly worried with one of our friend who's 6 months pregnant. She said she's alright. Siya nga ang pinakamabilis ang takbo! Medyo tumitigas lang daw tummy niya but she's alright. We were all safe but one was missing. Our choir teacher was still inside the restaurant. Dex went back inside to look for him. While we (the girls) stared at the glass windows to see what's happening inside. We saw our choir teacher talking with the people at the counter. Baket di siya lumalabas dun? Later we heard him saying "may tama yata hita ko.. namamanhid kasi..." And we saw a small hole on his pocket sa pants and spot of blood. We immediately called our doctor friend (who's also a choirmate and had dinner elsewhere) to go the restaurant. Our choir teacher was immediately sent to the hospital's ER. The boys sent him to the hospital while the girls all went back to the church to calm ourselves and wait for the news. Thank God the gun wound wasn't very deep. X-ray also showed the bullet wasn't inside his leg. 2 hours after the incident, we (including our choir teacher who was shot) were eating our midnight snack at Mcdo Makati and making kuwento what really happened back in the restaurant. Natakot na kami at nagawa pa naming kumain sa Mcdo. *LOL*

So how did our choir teacher got shot? Rewind... while all of us were rushing out of the restaurant, the choir teacher ran and hide in the ladies' room with another waitress. They thought they were safe inside the small room. Little did they know na hindi pala nila na-lock yun door. The target who was being chased apparently ran and hide inside the CR din. Pag pasok daw nung taong yun.. sumiksik pa siya sa likod nung choir teacher namin. So they were sandwiched inside the CR like this.. (door - waitress, choir teacher, target). The mad shooter couldn't open the door and started kicking it. Nasira nga raw yun door... tapos binaril niya yun door afterwards. Yun bullet tumama sa floor but bounced back at dun sa leg ng choir teacher namin tumama. Without knowing kung may tinamaan sa loob ng cr o wala, umalis na yun shooter. So eto ang conclusion:
1. The shooter must have thought na wala yun target niya sa loob ng CR. Kaya nung lumabas siya ng restaurant, he stopped pa and looked for him.
2. Yun waitress ang nakahawak sa door knob... pero baket yun choir teacher namin ang tinamaan? Answer? Mataba kasi siya. No joke. When the waitress saw that our choir teacher had a gun shot, she panicked and thought she was also shot. But nalang sexy siya kaya hindi siya tinamaan.
3. The target has to really thank God na hindi locked yun door ng CR. Dead end na kasi yun hallway leading to the CR. Imagine kung locked yun door ng CR at hindi siya nakapasok, siguro goodbye na talaga sya coz the shooter was really mad at wala na sa sarili. At kapal ng mukha niya sumiksik pa siya sa likod nung choir teacher namin.
4. Minamalas talaga ang choir teacher namin... enough said.

By the way, the policemen arrived a few minutes after the incident. One of them was asking our friends "anong nangyari? anong nangyari?" Siyempre everyone was in shock so no one answered. The next line the policeman said? "What happened? What happened?" He thought my friends were foreigners! (siyempre tawa na kami ng tawa nung nagkukuwentohan na kami about that later on). Ayon sa mga police, hinabol daw nila yun shooter hanggang sa next street. At siyempre, hindi daw nila nahabol. Ha? Sabi ng mga bystanders hinabol daw yun shooter hanggang sa isang dark alley na dead-end na yun dulo. Pano nawala? Siguro sinagip ni Darna!

Even though we were traumatized and shocked, we still have to thank God coz most of us were safe. Our choir teacher even though got wounded, buti nalang hindi malalim ang tama. Naisip ko nung huli, buti nalang...
1. buti nalang... hindi tinamaan yun bagets namin (she's only 17 yrs old) coz she was seated behind the target... Naaakoooo!! lagot kami sa parents niya kapag may nangyari sa kanya!!
2. buti nalang... matibay ang buntis. lagot kami sa asawa niya niya kapag may nangyari sa kanya!!
3. buti nalang... our doctor friend had dinner with his family elsewhere. Usually kasi sabay sabay kami nagdidinner. And he was with his wife and baby boy! Ang aking inaanak! Talagang Thank GOD buti wala sila dun!
4. buti nalang... yun another couple na choirmate namin hindi na sumunod dun sa restaurant. Talagang Thank GOD buti wala sila dun!

By the way, nung bumalik pala kami sa restaurant, naisip pa namin bayaran yun bill namin. Nakakaawa rin kasi yun may-ari kasi none of the customers paid their bill na coz everybody ran away. The owner didn't get our money na rin kasi alam naman niya nashock talaga kami. None of our possessions got lost din. Hawak hawak ko pa rin ang bag ko kahit tumatakbo ako at nadapa pa. Grabe, naisip ko pa na itago ang cellphone ko kung sakaling hold-up yun!

The next day, nagtext yun choir teacher namin.. he found the bullet head in his wallet. That explains why hindi nila mahanap yun bullet head sa CR where he was shot at wala rin sa leg niya as the X-ray showed. It's still suwerte out of the malas.
